Clear Aligners & Invisalign at Ridge Commons Family Dentistry in McKinney, Texas
Are you unhappy with your smile? Are you wanting to close some gaps and re-align your teeth but don’t want to deal with the hassle of traditional braces? Ifo so, clear aligners as an alternative may be the best for you. Dr. Huyen (Winnie) Nguyen, a dentist based in Mckinney, Texas is certified in providing Invisalign and clear aligner treatments.
What exactly are clear aligners and who are they for?
Clear aligners are made of a medical grade plastic that is custom fit to your teeth. These are great for older teenagers and adults with moderate gaps and crowding. Young children are not recommended for clear aligners due to their teeth are still in the process of growing in.
What are the benefits of doing clear aligners?
- Discrete: instead of the metal wires and brackets, there are tooth colored buttons placed on your teeth and the clear aligners allow for a more natural looking smile throughout treatment
- Allow for easy oral hygiene maintenance: the trays are removable which allow you to be able to floss and brush your teeth properly unlike the traditional braces that are a little bit more tricky to maintain
- Comfortable: since the aligners are custom fit to your teeth and mouth, patients often have a short transition period in getting adjusted using the aligners
What is the process of getting clear aligners like?
- The first thing to do is to schedule a free consultation with Dr. Huyen (Winnie) Nguyen to see whether you would be a good candidate for invisalign or the clear aligners. We would take photos of your mouth as well as get a digital scan using our PrimeScanner. This will allow Dr. Winnie to plan for treatment including: how long the treatment would take, how many aligners are needed, and watch which teeth for movement.
- Ridge Commons Family Dentistry will call you back after planning and present to you the finances of the treatment prior to starting.
- Tooth colored buttons are placed on to your teeth and we would give you a set of aligners that are to be changed out every 2 weeks per aligner and must be worn for at least 22 hours a day except when eating.
- Frequent check ups with Dr. Winnie to keep an eye on the treatment process and continuous delivery of the trays.
- At the end, Dr. Winnie will remove the tooth colored buttons. Ridge Commons Family Dentistry will help you get a retainer to maintain your new smile!
